CENTRAL AMERICAN TRAVEL

CA001. Antigua, Guatemala - Belize City, Belize
2 weeks
Departures on the first Saturday of the Month, Every Month
(Budget level Trip)

Begin your voyage into Central America with a couple of nights in Antigua, an old colonial town with interesting architecture and salsa dancing. The active volcanos nearby are breath taking as we get close up to molton rock.

Out of town we head to Lake Atitlan and then north to Semuc Champey. These picture perfect areas of the country are amazingly beautiful; you'll never forget caving by candle light, bats leaving their roost at sunset, and swimming down turquoise limestone pools.

Next we take a boat ride through the jungles to Aguateca. This remote set of Mayan ruins is deep within the jungle and home to the rare howler monkeys. We leave with either a half day jungle trek, visiting indiginous people enroute, or take a boat back through the jungle.

The island town of Flores is our stopping point for Tikal, one of the best preserved and amazing Mayan structures in Central America. Watching sunrise over the jungle, listening to the carcophony is a personal experience as we sit on top of one of the ancient monuments to witness the spectacle.

Belize soon arrives, with us heading out to tropical island paradise. We get to the islands where we can fish, sunbath, snorkel, scuba dive
