About Us.
The basis of our travelling, and everything that we do, is that travel is good for the traveller and the people they travel to see. Travellers on independent trips are, we think, far more important to local economies than holiday-makers on package trips. Generally, travellers will spend money in local shops, markets and restaurants, directly benefiting local communities. Holiday makers often stay in multi-national run hotels with most of the money ending up in a corporate bank account somewhere back in the west. Add this to the fact that most travellers spend more money over their period of travel than do most holiday makers (as you’re out there for a lot longer) and you’ve got a double bonus for the locals!

Waterfight!
We see the benefits for where we go as being more than just financial. Many countries political and social regimes aren’t open like we take for granted in the West (the debate on whether we’re actually open in the West is something you can have on our trips). Travel is a subtle way to show these countries another alternative to how they are. There’s lots that they can learn from us; but there’s also lots that we can learn from them.

Whilst we don’t intend to change the world single handedly, we’d really like to be able to say that we contributed.  Having found an intimate love of travel in 2003, and having been to well over 100 countries, we want as many people to get out there and have their own experiences as possible. We love the benefits that it brings to our lives and we love seeing the benefits that it brings to others lives (both those that come with us and those that we meet, including locals, along the way). We never want to stop exploring… and we’ve already done a lot of that so we must know what we like!
Causes we love:
